The thick smell of bullshit is hanging in the air over America, so I dug up this video to clear it up a bit.

Congratulations SC Gov. Mark Sanford, you’re the biggest jackass of the day!
Sanford admits affair, apologizes to family. Governor apologizes to wife, sons and friends
By GINA SMITH – gnsmith@thestate.com– BREAKING: Sanford admits he has been unfaithful to his wife.
Gov. Mark Sanford admitted today that his secret trip to Argentina over Father’s Day weekend was to visit a woman he is having an affair with.
“I have developed a relationship with what started as a dear dear friend from Argentina. It began very innocently as I expect many of these things do, just casual email back and forth,” Sanford said. “But here recently this last year developed into something much more.”
Asked if Sanford was separated from his wife, he said “I don’t know how you want to define that. I”m here and she’s there. I guess in a formal sense we are not.”
Sanford said his wife has known about the affair and they have been working through it for the past five months. “What I did was wrong, period. End of story,” Sanford said.
Sanford arrived in the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport this morning, having wrapped up a seven-day visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, he said then. Sanford said he had not been hiking along the Appalachian Trail, as his staff said in a Tuesday statement to the media.
Sanford’s whereabouts had been unknown since Thursday, and the mystery surrounding his absence fueled speculation about where he had been and who’s in charge in his absence. His emergence Wednesday ended the mystery.
Sanford, in an interview with The State, said he decided at the last minute to go to the South American country to recharge after a difficult legislative session in which he battled with lawmakers over how to spend federal stimulus money.
Sanford said he had considered hiking on the Appalachian Trail, an activity he said he has enjoyed since he was a high school student.
“But I said ‘no’ I wanted to do something exotic,” Sanford said “… It’s a great city.”
Sanford, in a brief interview in the nation’s busiest airport, said he has been to the city twice before, most recently about a year and half ago during a Commerce Department trip.
Sanford said he was alone on the trip. He declined to give any additional details about what he did other than to say he drove along the coastline.
Sanford, who was wearing a blue and white button down shirt and brown denim pants, said he left for Buenos Aires on Thursday night from Columbia Metropolitan Airport and had originally planned to come back tomorrow.
Media reports said a SLED SUV the governor drove that night was spotted in the airport’s parking lot.
Sanford’s spokesman Joel Sawyer declined to immediately comment to The Associated Press, and the governor did not return cell phone messages.
Sanford planned a news conference at 2 p.m. Wednesday at his office in Columbia.
Critics slammed his administration for lying to the public.
“Lies. Lies. Lies. That’s all we get from his staff. That’s all we get from his people. That’s all we get from him,” said state Sen. Jake Knotts, R-West Columbia. “Why all the big cover-up?”
Trying to drive along the coast could frustrate a weekend visitor to Argentina. In Buenos Aires, the Avenida Costanera is the only coastal road, and it’s less than two miles long. Reaching coastal resorts to the south requires a drive of nearly four hours on an inland highway with views of endless cattle ranches. To the north is a river delta of islands reached only by boat.
A spokesman for Argentina’s immigration agency wouldn’t comment Wednesday on whether Sanford entered the country, citing privacy laws.
The governor said he cut his trip short after his chief of staff, Scott English, told him his trip was gaining a lot of media attention and he needed to come back.
When asked why his staff said he was on the Appalachian Trail, Sanford replied, “I don’t know.”
Sanford later said “in fairness to his staff,” he had told them he might go hiking on the Appalachian Trial.
Sanford said he decided not to return via the Columbia airport to avoid the media. The State Media Company was the only media who greeted Sanford this morning.
“I don’t know how this thing got blown out of proportion,” Sanford said.
Sanford said he has taken adventure trips for years to unwind. He has visited such places as the coast of Turkey, the Greek Isles and South America. He was with friends sometimes and sometimes by himself.
“I would get out of the bubble I am in,” Sanford said.
Sanford said the legislative session was a difficult one for him, particularly losing the fight over whether he should accept stimulus $700 million in stimulus money he wanted lawmakers to spend on debt instead of urgent budget needs.
“It was a long session and I needed a break,” Sanford said.
After a brief conversation with a reporter, Sanford was escorted away by an aide.
What a dumb man. The consensus on Twitter is that he should resign, not because of the affair, but because his actions leading up to today’s disastrous press conference, including misleading people as to his whereabouts and being MIA for an entire weekend. These are clearly not the actions of someone who has the state of South Carolina as a priority. His libido is a priority, as it usually is with these male politicians who get caught…which is averaging around one or two a year.
Is there not ONE male politician who can keep his penis out of other women’s vaginas? Seriously.

I have no use for Keith Olbermann. I don’t think he’s cute, I don’t think he’s clever, I think he’s a rotten little foul douchebag who may or may not have some mental issues he needs to work out. That’s why it doesn’t surprise me when he says stupid things like this:
Laura Ingraham took him to task last night and had a very spirited debate with feminist Gloria Feldt. Personally, I think Gloria has it all backwards. I think it’s wrong, especially for a woman, to say that this kind of behavior is alright and that she was somehow asking for it. Really? Is that where we are? Because she doesn’t agree with gay marriage, she deserves these attacks? It’s almost shameful, but I don’t expect women like Gloria to be ashamed for promoting this type of behavior.
And while I agree with Laura Ingraham about the fact that people like Keith Olbermann are wrong for the things they’re saying about Miss California, I find it HIGHLY hypocritical of her to berate a feminist about not standing up for Carrie Prejean when not more than a couple months ago, she was calling Meghan McCain “fat” and making fun of her because she had the nerve to voice her opinion on what’s wrong with the GOP.
Was she rallying the feminists to protect Meghan McCain when Conservatives were foaming at the mouth and calling her “fat” and a “bitch” and a “fat bitch” for speaking her mind about the archaic thinking of some on the extreme right? Was she? No, she wasn’t. She was right in the thick of them, flinging insults and mocking Meghan for her honest opinion. Now she has the nerve to be appalled when feminists are making fun of Carrie Prejean? Really Laura, you can’t have it both ways, my dear.
Listen, I agree with Laura on the fundamentals that these vicious attacks against Miss California for stating her opinion is just ridiculous and uncalled for. You don’t have to agree with her and you don’t have to like her opinion, but the fact is, she was asked a question by that little troll Perez Hilton and she answered truthfully. She has a right to her opinion and it doesn’t matter if you and I don’t agree with her. It’s her right, just like we have the right to disagree. What I have a problem with is that now she’s being vilified for it by the very people who’ve been throwing around the words “acceptance” and “tolerance” for years and preaching to everyone else how it’s just not right to hate someone because they don’t agree with them. See the problem there? You can’t be FOR gay marriage and expect everyone to agree with you. You can’t be AGAINST gay marriage and expect everyone to agree with you, either. At the end of the day, it’s about respecting those differences of opinion and not turning into the very thing you’re calling the other person. It’s very hypocritical of them all.
Screw it. Everyone’s a hypocrite. Get over yourselves. Especially you, Perez Hilton, oh icky scum of the bloggy world. You may just be the worst, because you knew what you were doing when you asked that question. It was loaded and you knew it and when you got an honest response back, you didn’t like it. One has to wonder, when exactly will your 15 minutes of fame be up?

Apparently, every “good Republican” now has a beef with Meghan McCain. Why? Because she had the audacity to call out Ann Coulter for being the crazy stick figure with no soul that she is. And to make matters worse, she had the nerve to go on Rachel Maddow’s show and proclaim that “there’s an extreme on both parties and I hate extreme”.
Now, poor Meghan’s being called everything from the Republican version of Paris Hilton to a self-obsessed twit to a tool to being made fun of because of her weight. She’s basically being stoned by her fellow Conservatives for daring to question the old party principals and for calling out the extreme far right. Wow, this sure is a turn-around from the election when Conservatives were just fawning over the fact that she was blonde…beautiful…young…and Conservative! They just couldn’t get enough of her when they wanted votes. But now…oh no…she’s Enemy #1!
Yes, she’s blonde and she talks a little like Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde”, but she’s not stupid. She has a voice, she has opinions, and she has every right to voice them however and wherever she wants to, just like the rest of us do. She shouldn’t have to apologize to anyone for her beliefs, especially people within her own party.
Meghan responded to Laura Ingraham’s uncalled for attack on her weight yesterday with “The Politics of Size”.
Recently my not-size-0 body has come under fire again by the conservative pundit Laura Ingraham. On her radio show recently, she sarcastically commented that I was “too plus-sized to be a cast member on the television show The Real World” and needled me about my weight with a comment about Barbie’s 50th anniversary. Instead of intellectually debating our ideological differences about the future of the Republican Party, Ingraham resorted to making fun of my age and weight, in the fashion of the mean girls in high school.
…..
At this point, I have more respect for Ann Coulter than I do for Laura Ingraham because at least Coulter didn’t come back at me with heartless, substance-less attacks about my weight. All I can do is try to be a positive role model for women of my generation and, I hope, help show that no matter what industry you are in, what size you are has nothing to do with your worth.
You know, I always thought Laura Ingraham was a smart woman. Now, I see she’s no better than these men who trash women over their weight when they don’t have anything else to criticize them for. In fact, she’s worse. It’s very sad when you’re so desperate for something to make fun of someone about that you grasp for the image straw. Classy, Laura. I’m so glad that God blessed you with the skinny gene. It’s a shame you have to pick on those who are bigger than you because you think they’re traitors to the party. Pathetic.
Meghan McCain was right on when she said that Ann Coulter was scaring people in her generation away. Don’t believe her? Well, add me to the list of “scared Conservatives”. I’ve been so put off by the party over the last eight years that I’ve found myself questioning whether or not I want to be a part of it. And seeing the response to Meghan over the last few days only cements the fact that I don’t know the Republican party anymore. It’s a scary, hateful place full of nasty people who don’t like change or a difference of opinion.
Well, excuse me if I don’t buy into that bullshit. I refuse to eat the entire Conservative cookie, crumbs and all. There are far more people like Meghan and myself than the Conservative Party cares to acknowledge. They expect us to follow toe and step, and God help us if we stray out of line. Maybe instead of talking trash about Meghan McCain, maybe Conservatives should stop and listen to what she’s telling them about the weakness of the party and why people like myself are leaving in droves.
Liberal blogger Ron Chusid says what I’m trying to, only far more eloquently.
It is possible that, if we were trying to view Meghan McCain as a serious political pundit, this might be an issue. It is a different story if we try to see her as a typical young woman with a Republican background who just happens to be the daughter of their last presidential candidate. In this sense McCain might have some lessons for them as to why the Republicans are turning into a regional party of the south and Mormon belt, and why young people are abandoning them in tremendous numbers.
Is the problem that McCain has no principles, or that she will not adopt the extremist principles which are required of anyone staying in the Republican Party? The Republican Party has been driving out their moderates and taking on an extremist philosophy which even Barry Goldwater was highly critical of in his later years. Maybe they don’t mind that John McCain’s daughter doesn’t accept their extremism, considering they also see John McCain as a heretic, but in addition we saw two of Barry Goldwater’s granddaughters back Barack Obama this year, along with many other Republicans.
It is one thing for a political party to think they are adhering to a consistent philosophy. It is a problem for that party when their views become so narrow and out of touch with reality that many of their supporters leave the party. When a generation is becoming lost to them, they must seriously question if they are in danger of going the way of the Whigs.
Meghan McCain is certainly not a flaming liberal. If conservatives desire to have any chance of building a majority party which has the support of the young they would be far better off listening to her objections as opposed to attacking her weight or choice in comedians. The Republicans received Meghan McCain’s vote in 2008 because her father was on the ticket. They can hardly expect to win the youth vote if this is the only way many young people (or rational people of any age) will have anything to do with the GOP.
But who am I to talk? Because I agree with Meghan, I’m pretty sure that I’ll also be labeled a fat, unpatriotic, fake assed Conservative bitch. Wow. Charming. And here I thought the far left were the masters when it came to degrading others that didn’t agree with them. I’m ashamed of the Conservative blogosphere right now. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever been so disgusted with it.
If you feel this way about her, then I can only imagine what you think of me. I share a lot of the same views as Meghan. And it’s not because I’m trying to be hip or because I’m a tool. I just happen to believe what I believe in and I’m not catering to anyone…especially the GOP.
So please, feel free to tell me right now that I’m a commie-loving, fat, disgusting, unpatriotic bitch, just like she is. Tell me that I’m not a good American and that I’m dumb and that I should shut my mouth. And when you’re done degrading me, think about the message you’re sending to all of those young Conservatives who share similar beliefs. That it’s “you’re either with us or against us”.
And for the record, I’m not a Communist loving, granola eating Liberal. What I am is a girl who voted for George Bush twice and voted for John McCain in the last election. I believe everyone has the right to love whoever they want and I DO support gay marriage. We happen to own lots of guns and I’ve shot more than my share. I come from a military family and a member of my family has fought in every major American war from the Revolutionary to our current war in Iraq. I lost a nephew in Iraq a few years ago and I support our brave soldiers and the job they’re doing to keep us safe. I believe a woman has a right to choose what she does with her own body and I’m all for the death penalty. I’m a red-blooded American, not some cookie-cutter Conservative or cookie-cutter Liberal robot. I have my own mind, I know what I believe in, and I don’t think there’s ANYTHING wrong with having more than one set of beliefs. I also hate extremes. I’m not confused about where I stand politically, I know EXACTLY what I believe in and I’m just as patriotic as you assholes. And until now, I always saw myself on the right side of the political sphere. Apparently, I’m just not good enough for the likes of you sweet, accepting folks.
Well, how about this. I understand fully now that the GOP don’t want people like me tainting their politics and giving the party a bad name. Well, that’s fine by me. I don’t think I want to be associated with a bunch of hypocritical jerks. So I’ll just pack up my toys and find another sandbox to play in.
And you wonder why Obama’s in the White House right now. You dumb, sons-a-bitches.

Sarah Palin, that’s who! I shook her hand and got an autograph, which in itself was feat, considering that everyone and their mother had showed up and was pushing at the same time wanting to speak to her and get something signed.
What a nice lady. And really beautiful. My husband, besotted fool that he was, took some video with his phone, but for some reason he can’t email it to me. If he does, I’ll stick it on YouTube.
It’s funny, because the general consensus from those standing around me was that they weren’t there for Saxby, they were there for Sarah Palin. There were far more Palin shirts, stickers, and signs than there were for Chambliss. Savannah definitely loves her.
All in all, it was a very pleasant, albeit loud, experience. I was having fun right up until the time that this older gentleman literally started spooning me from behind to get an autograph. He really seemed to be enjoying himself, because at one point it felt like he was getting an erection from rubbing against my bottom. For a second, I actually thought he had pulled it out and was like rubbing it against my cheeks. I was so mad. I eventually just turned around, hands in the air in disgust and said, “Listen, do you mind NOT getting so close? You’re pushing against me and invading my personal space. Back off!”. God, I’ve never felt so violated in my life. He was literally two seconds from being knocked to the ground and kicked in the teeth by little ole me.
Even with Palin stumping for him, Chambliss still hasn’t won my vote. I’m with the rabid pack of Catholic school girls (plaid skirts, long socks, and all!) behind me who were screaming like Rob Pattinson had appeared on stage. We were only there for Sarah.
Remember Georgians, tomorrow is the run-off date. Make sure to get in there and vote!

Sarah Palin is stumping for one of my least-favorite politicians, Saxby Chambliss, on Monday all over the Peach State. It’s confirmed that she’ll be in Savannah on Monday at 11AM at the MLK Jr. Arena at the Savannah Civic Center. You MUST R.S.V.P. to attend to the event and you will be required to bring a photo ID with you to get into the event.
I know there are a lot of you who don’t like Sarah Palin and a lot of you that do. Whichever way you slide is your business, but I wanted to pass this along. I’ve already requested two passes, one for me and the other for my husband.
As for the husband, he’s completely enamored with the Governor, so he’s on Cloud Nine right now. I don’t agree with Palin on a lot of issues, but I do respect her for the most part, so it’ll be a treat to get the chance to meet her. We’ll see what happens. In any case, I’ll be sure to post the pictures to Flickr.
As for Chambliss, well he didn’t have my vote on November 4th and I doubt he’ll have it on December 2nd. The man is obviously in the pocket of the sugar industry. The way that he berated Graham H. Graham after the Imperial Sugar Refinery explosion was just beyond the pale. Did Chambliss forget that Graham was the first to raise the question about safety in the refineries? Well, by golly, he was content to pass over that fact and just wave his fist around and be a hateful old bag. By golly.
It’s obvious to any one with half a brain cell that Graham H. Graham was trying to raise concerns and that he had the safety of the workers at heart, but that he was silenced by a company worried more about money. It’s a shame that the Port Wentworth explosion had to happen and that all those people had to die or be injured to open their eyes up to the problems. They should be ashamed of themselves for sending Chambliss in as their attack dog after the fact, when they could’ve fixed the problems in the first place.
My husband has taken such offense to Chambliss that he threatened to join the Senate race just to unseat Chambliss. Yeah…I’m not Senate wife material. Also, this blog would surely kill any chance of a successful campaign. Dizzy Girl is pretty much the swinging axe in the dream of any sort of political career my husband has or dreams of having. Suits me fine. I’ll take Chambliss down with my vote for Martin.

Wow, I’m really excited right now! I know a lot of folks are being very doom and gloom about this, but I’m actually emotional right now and I’m not ashamed to admit it. When you think about how far we’ve come in our country, this is an extraordinary moment. I’m so proud of my country right now.
I would like to point out that I had no idea who I was voting for when I stepped into the voting booth this morning. And until the moment that I hit the button, I was on the fence. But I have to say, I felt good about this election, whichever way that it was going to go. I believe both Obama and McCain are good, honest men and the country would’ve been better with either of them in office. As for my vote, I’m going to keep it close to my heart. I know the reasons I voted for the way I did, but for the first time in the history of this blog, I’m going to keep them to myself. They don’t matter to anyone but myself. I don’t regret the name I hit. I’m proud of it.
That said, I’m a very happy woman right now. I’m very much at peace with my vote and I feel good that it all turned out this way.
