You should always listen to your “inner voice”, especially when you get a gut feeling that something isn’t right. Maybe it’s God. Maybe it’s just intuition. The point is, you should always takes these feelings seriously. Case in point?
I’m driving down the road a few minutes ago, on my way back from the store. I’m passing a new subdivision on my right when, I swear to you, I hear “Slow down now!”. I’m only going 55 and the speed limit is 60, but I listen to my gut and slow down.
Good thing I did, because right about that time for a four-wheeler with a young man, holding what looks to be an infant on his lap and an eight to nine year old behind him, come streaking over a small crest, straight down a small embankment, and down into the road, directly in front of me to the other side. All of this without stopping or even looking to see if anything was coming. They were going so fast that, had I not have slowed down, I surely would’ve killed all three.
I had half a mind to stop my vehicle and let the guy have a piece of my mind, but I doubt he would’ve had the good sense to listen. Nevermind he’s an idiot for having two small children on the four-wheeler, driving like a maniac and running directly into traffic. No, I would’ve been wrong for pointing out the fact that he’s a moron. I would’ve been the one living with the guilt of killing three people for the rest of my life. And nevermind that I’m the one who almost pissed myself. No, I would’ve been wrong for letting him have it. I swear, I want to shake the sense into people sometimes for their own good.
So there’s your lesson for the day, kiddies. When your “inner voice” speaks, you’d better listen. You never know when you could be saving a life.
