The cold weather has come to Savannah, but the most important thing on my mind right now is whether or not the white stuff is going to fall from the sky today. I’m watching the Weather Channel right now and it’s 39 degrees out, the wind is kicking up a storm, and there’s a definite “smell” to the air that has my Spidey senses tingling.
Those who’ve been reading my blog for a long time know that every year I get the winter itch. I start reminiscing about my youth in West Virginia and playing in the snow, and I end up grouchy, depressed, and cursing our South Georgia weather.
Only twice in the 11 years that I’ve lived here has it snowed…if you can call it that. It spit for like five minutes and the flakes melted as soon as they hit the ground. It was pathetic. But not as pathetic as me out in the backyard with my family, camera in hand, tongue stuck out to catch the snow, and crying like a little baby. Sad.
So, cross your fingers and toes for me today. Pray that God gives me just a little snow. I don’t need a whole lot…five minutes is fine. I just want to feel the snow on my skin so I can say that we actually had a winter.

If I could send some of Chicago’s snow your way, I surely would. Lord knows we’ve got more than enough of it!

I wish it would snow just to justify it being this freaking cold in south Georgia.
